Liquid Heat is an exciting, international urban public art project that brings together photography, dance and education.

Working with well-known Hispanic, Cuban and Brazilian dance companies and artists, Jessica Angel is creating a series of photographic installations in Havana (Cuba), New York (USA), and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) that capture the spirit and excitement of Latin dance.

Liquid Heat launched in Havana in April 2018 at the prestigious museum, Casa Guayasamin in Old Havana as part of The Festival Internacional de Danza en Paisajes Urbanos, Habana Vieja: Ciudad en Movimiento. Jessica collaborated with one of Cuba's most important choreographers, Santiago Alfonso, for a unique photo shoot to exhibit a series of vibrant, life size photographs that capture the movement, energy and passion of Cuban dance

Liquid Heat is now launching in RAW SPACE, New York on August 21st 2018 as part of Harlem Havana Festival and HARLEM WEEK. To bring the images to life, RITMO Y COLOR, a fun summer Cuban dance and art program for local kids will take place in the gallery. The workshops will be run by Cuban dancer Luanda Pau. Taking the Liquid Heat exhibit as a starting point and inspiration, the children will learn Cuban dance and explore creative expression, movement and color, discovering the shared cultural links between Harlem and Havana.
Liquid Heat is a dynamic art project that is based on site-specific art work available to the public, with educational opportunities for kids.
We are always ready to explore partnerships. If you are interested in collaborating on Liquid Heat going forward, we would love to hear from you.
